# Create a tournament

> Host a tournament as a PTSO administrator or athletic director.

Only a **PTSO Administrator** or **Athletic Director** whose role is scoped to an organization can create a tournament.

  <Step title="Switch to a host role">
    Confirm the identity card shows PTSO Administrator or Athletic Director and the correct organization.

  <Step title="Open the wizard">
    Go to **Tournaments** and create a new tournament.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Publish when ready">
    A public **View Tournament** link is available after the tournament is public or active. Until then, the button stays disabled.

A Club Administrator does not create association or school tournaments. They [find public tournaments](/tournaments/find) and work from events they are registered in.
